Insider Inc.’s Women’s Group recently held its second “I WILL” panel featuring senior female management leaders of the company.
Short for Insider Women Inspiring Lifelong Leadership, the I WILL conversation series encourages Insider Inc. staffers to share their perspectives on the unique opportunities and challenges faced by women in today’s workplace.
The panel featured Jenifer Berman, CMO of Insider Inc.; Barbara Peng, President of Business Insider Intelligence; and Sara Silverstein, Editor-at-large and Executive Producer of Insider Inc. Leah Goldman, Managing Editor of Business Insider, served as moderator.
These senior managers, who come from different parts of the Insider Inc. business, including sales and editorial, shared their tips – and pitfalls to avoid – when it comes to being an effective boss.
The conversation included the importance of setting goals with team members, allowing room for diversity of opinion, and the importance of establishing a two-way dialogue to ensure conversations are not just top down.
This was the second I WILL panel. The series kicked-off earlier this year with a conversation featuring Julie Zeveloff, US Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of INSIDER; Sheila Buckley, former SVP of Sales at Insider Inc., and Michelle Martinez Lee, Senior Product Manager of Insider Inc.
